Doug was born in Springfield, Massachusetts to Arnold R. and Francis V. Smith.  He married Jane K. Smith on May 25th, 1985 in Evergreen, Colorado.  They had two daughters, Natalie and Laura, born while living in Evergreen and then moved to Boston where their son Jesse was born. He loved his family and Jesus more than anything else. He was known for gathering people around large meals and entertaining with stories and games. His wise and optimistic outlook on life made him a natural leader and trusted friend. He is survived by his mother, two brothers, wife, three children, son-in-law, daughter-in-law and grandkids.
