VERLEOUS WILLIAM SMITH, born May 24, 1923 in Wolf City, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2016. Verleous is survived by his son Edward W Smith of Amarillo, Texas and his daughter Deanna Barnes of Morrison, Colorado. He has 7 grandchildren an 10 great-grandchildren. His Family was his greatest source of pride and happiness. He moved to Elizabeth, Colorado in 1971 and called it home till his passing. He had many friends and lots of family. Verleous worked at Coors Brewing Company where he retired in 1985. He was a construction superintendent and was very proud of all the building he helped construct. Verleous was known as the man with more than 9 lives as he survived many things: Cancer, carbon monoxide poisoning, heart attack, struck by lighting and numerous others! But he was a survivor! He was a kind and gentle man and always had a smile on face and a warm welcome for his friends and family. He loved to watch sports, his favorite teams included the Colorado Rockies , Denver Broncos and Oklahoma University (OU) ! He was an amazing gardener and was proud to hand out his vegetables every summer! He also loved to hunt and fish. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for anyone and there was nothing that duct tape couldn’t fix! He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
