Obituary of David Howard Hughes

David Howard Hughes passed on to a better place this past Thursday, October 6th. He died suddenly from heart failure in his home in Parker, Colorado. David was born in Salisbury, Maryland on September 30, 1963, he was the son of Don B. and Leslie White Hughes. He graduated from James M. Bennett Senior High School in Salisbury, Maryland and Nashville Auto and Diesel College in Nashville, Tennessee. His early years were spent on the family farm in Rockawalkin where he had his own vegetable garden and assisted with truck crops. His first work experiences were in hazmat and envrionmental clean-up. More recently he owned and operated CDH Trucking and Excavating. David enjoyed pushing the limit, deep sea fishing off Cabo, scuba diving in the Caymen Islands, motorcycling in the Rockies and Southwest. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Harrison Davis Hughes of Parker, Colorado, his sister, Lucille Hughes of Easton and her children, Leslie and Thomas of Baltimore, aunts and uncles, Charles and Southey Lord of Stuart, Florida, George and Suzanne Harkins of Berlin, Pete and Karen Hughes of Hebron, Harrison's mother and life-long friend, Carol Dilworth Hughes of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and a dear friend and partner in crime, Kim Knox of Parker, Colorado and his dog, Chester. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, W. Miller and Leslie Purnell White; Max and Miriam Blackiston Hughes; and aunt Marsha Hughes Richards. The family will have a Celebration of David's Life in both Salisbury, Maryland and in Parker, Colorado on Saturday, October 15, 2016. In Parker, Colorado, the Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker PACE Center. A Harley ride in honor of Dave will follow to the reception at Takoda Tavern, 12311 Pine Bluffs Way # A, Parker, CO 80134. Service Information
