Obituary of LaVerna G. Fitzgerald

LaVerna G. Cyriacks Fitzgerald of Parker, Colorado, passed peacefully to join her Lord and Savior in Heaven on April 10, 2013 at age 92. LaVerna was born in Adams, Nebraska on January 21, 1921, the daughter of Evert Jann (John) Parde and Thalena (Lena) Alvine Holz. She was married to Bruno Albert John Cyriacks on December 17, 1940 who proceeded her in death on July 5, 1966, and later was married to Roland Fitzgerald on May 22, 1970, who proceeded her in death on September 1, 1979. LaVerna was proceeded in death by her mother and father, and by four brothers, John Parde, Albert Parde, Marvin Parde, and Leonard Parde all of Adams, Nebraska. She is survived by two daughters, Annette and Robert Hollowell, of Colorado, Evaline and Jim Landry, of Illinois, and son John and Vicki Cyriacks, of Oklahoma, nine grandchildren, Jalene Ruelas, Randall Hollowell, Michelle Yaeger, Denise Rowan, Rhonda Swanson, James E. Landry, Jonathan Cyriacks, Anthony Cyriacks and Aaron Cyriacks, 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. LaVerna spent most of her life on the family farm in Gothenburg, Nebraska and later lived in Cozad, Nebraska, Denver, Colorado and Las Vegas, Nevada. LaVerna was a woman of strong Christian faith and lived a full life. She loved to sew, crochet, play cards, cook and play bingo. She handmade many quilted lap blankets for nursing homes. Mom and grandma, we will miss you greatly and you have touched all of our lives in a way that will live on to all generations. At LaVerna's request, she was cremated and there will be a graveside service for friends and family at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Gothenburg, Nebraska June 15, 2013 at 10:30 AM. A Celebration of LaVerna's Life will be held at the Gothenburg Senior Center, June 15, 2013, at 1PM. For those who would like to leave a lasting tribute to LaVerna's life, memorials may be made to the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Service Information
