Obituary of Kimberly Blair Dickerson

Kim B. Dickerson, 52, of Parker, Entered into Heaven on February 28, 2013 with family at her side. Loving Wife of 24 years to Raymond. Proud Mom of Blair and Blake. Also survived by her Parents, Barbara Naoma Smith-Ellington of Layfayette, CO and John D. and Barb Ellington of Witchita, KS, Sisters, Dawn (Roy) Hosick of Bennett, CO, Leslie (Carlos) Martinez of Greeley, CO, Brother, J.D. (Denise) Ellington of Lafayette, CO, Grandmother, Eloise Rushforth of Charlotte, NC, and Mother-in-Law, Carole Dickerson of Dry Prong, LA. Kim was born July 4, 1960 in Milford, DE to John D. Ellington and Barbara Naoma Smith. She married Raymond R. Dickerson on September 9, 1989 at Perry Park in Larkspur, CO. Kim is preceded in death by her Father-in-Law, Bud Dickerson, Grandmother, Naoma Smith and Grandfather, Thomas Rushforth. Kim was a diligent and passionate worker, she went to college, but before graduating she found her niche in the corporate world at McDonalds. She thought very highly of everyone she met and had the pleasure to work with in McDonald land. Her 26 years of "making hamburgers" lead her into more corporate adventures with Red Robin and Noodles and Company. She loved what she did with every ounce of her being. Anyone she ever worked with would agree that she could light up a room and her enthusiasm for her job was second to none. Her job was her life, second only to her family. Kim was a mother and wife first, and a corporate superstar second. She never missed a single cheerleading competition for Blair or a second of any of Blake's soccer games. She was such a proud mom, and her children looked up to her for guidance and support, which she never failed to give. Kim was and is deeply loved by her two children, Blair and Blake. Kim loved a challenge and never shied away from any challenge ever given her --- which brings us to her husband, Raymond. She often commented they were polar opposites, a city girl and a redneck/hick/southern boy, but in her usual optimistic fashion she was heard to say "I have a plan, I can do something with this". As usual she was successful and was deeply loved by Ray for their 24 years together. Kim was respected and looked up to for guidance and advice by her family and extended family. She could always be counted on for her positive and 'always looking forward' attitude. Kim was the sister and the daughter who always took the time to call us to just check in. At family gatherings it was Kim who dominated the dinner conversations. We will greatly miss her. Kim loved reading, cross stitch, (fair-weather) skiing and flower gardening. She loved being a cheer and soccer mom. A Celebration of Kim's Life will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013, 11 AM at the Chapel at Cherry Hills Community Church, 3900 Grace Blvd., Highlands Ranch, CO 80126.
