Obituary of Jack Lester Bolejack

Jack Lester Bolejack, 57, of Elizabeth, Colorado passed away unexpectedly February 22, 2013 at his home. Jack was born to Lester S. and Deloris M. Bolejack on September 19, 1955 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He grew up on the Bolejack Ranch in Elbert, CO with his sister's, Rita and Connie and his brother, Bart. Jack attended first through twelfth grade graduating as Salutatorian in 1973 from Elbert School. During that time, he participated in basketball and was voted a Black Forest League All Conference player. He also enjoyed singing in the chorus and many other school activities. After graduation, Jack worked on the Bolejack ranch for 5 years and then worked for 10 years at Molycorp as a chemical operator dealing in rare earths processed at their plant in Louviers, CO. He left there in April of 1988 and has spent the last 24 years employed by the Douglas County School District where he was an Operations and Maintenance Carpenter. Jack was recently nominated by the Douglas County School District for an Apple Award which recognizes those employees who have demonstrated a superior ability to foster excellence in education by contributing to the student learning and educational environment. After dating for 5 years, Jack married the love of his life, Linda Ellison (Platts) of Parker and they have made their home for the past 27 years in Elizabeth, CO. Jack enjoyed hunting deer and antelope on the eastern plains with his brother and friends. He also was a meticulous woodworker and enjoyed hand tooling leather. He had a real fascination with Classic Cars and Narrow Gauge Railroads. Vacationing always took Jack and Linda to the Rocky Mountains on a road trip and he could spend hours upon hours wandering through antique stores. He said it always took his mind off the problems of this present world. His love for basketball throughout high school and playing on the Elbert Town Team continued with his enjoyment watching as many basketball tournaments as possible during March Madness. Jack looked to God for his guidance each day and trusted in his Lord and Savior Jesus for all his needs. He was a long time member of The Rock-Real Community Church of Castle Rock, Colorado and at times served as an usher and greeter. Jack and Linda also enjoyed hosting a small group of church members in their home on a regular basis. Jack is survived by his wife, Linda, sister, Rita Thompson (John), brother, Bart (Debbie), and two nieces, Emily and Lauren as well as numerous extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester S. and Deloris M. Bolejack and sister, Connie Rae Allen. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on March 6, 2013 at 1:00 pm at The Rock (Church) 4881 Cherokee Drive, Castle Rock, CO 80109 followed by refreshments.
