Obituary of George P. Ohlman
George P. Ohlman, Jr., 90, passed away peacefully on his Ranch in Franktown, CO, Dec. 17, 2011. Born Sept. 24, 1921, in Denver, CO. He graduated Littleton High School in 1939. A P-47 Pilot in WWII, awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and then retired from United Airlines. He loved ranching and cutting horses, winning many awards and was inducted into the Western States Cutting Horse Hall of Fame in 2006.
George's first love was his wife, Elaine, who preceded him in death in 2005. Also preceded in death by sisters, Shirley Cozens, Gwendolyn Faber, Norma Jean Pilkington. Survived by sister, Carol (Anthony) Jackson, daughter, Wendy (Fred) Larsen, sons, Terry and Gary (Michelle) Ohlman, grandson, Luke, granddaughter, Jennifer, great-granddaughters, Rylee and Ellee, numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place through Ponderosa Valley Funeral Services.
A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held on Jan. 28, 2012, 11 AM, at Spring Valley Chapel, 9125 E. Greenland Rd., Franktown, CO 80116. Memorial contributions may be made to Porter Hospice at the Johnson Center, 5020 E. Arapahoe Rd., Centennial, CO 80122.
