Mabel Grace (Biddinger) Hollinger, 95, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at The Denver Hospice. Born February 14, 1916 at Keysville, Carroll Co., MD to Claude Garfield Biddinger and Bessie Grace (Shorb)Biddinger, she enjoyed attending a one-room schoolhouse at a very young age with her older sister, the late Evelyn Shorb (Biddinger) Strevig. She was a graduate of the York High School system. Mrs. Hollinger was the widow of the late Paul L. Hollinger and is survived by her son, James L. and wife, Kay M. Hollinger of Norristown, son, Kenneth B. and wife, Diane M. Hollinger of Folson, LA, daughter, Brenda L. Hollinger of Gettysburg and daughter, Carole Hollinger Oles and husband, Kenneth of Spartanburg, SC. There are 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her niece, Kathryn Strevig Rinerman and sons of La Plata, MD. Mrs. Hollinger was energetic, active and involved with living a full life to the very last, enjoying a strong mind and a quick wit. Along with her friends and family, mentoring them through schools, scouts, pets, church activities and aspirations, some favorite things were her ballroom dancing competitions, traveling throughout the United States and the Carribean, and then beginning the mentoring all over again with a new group of grandchildren. Her life was full of acts of kindness which were often rendered in an anonymous manner, to those in need. She was a member of various social clubs including the Red Hat Ladies. She was accomplished with all types of needlework, along with a talent for other forms of art, which she passed on to her family. She fully embraced the latest forms of technology and was frequently seen enjoying her ipod, email and cell phone. She has left a legacy of love, an example of dedication to work and accomplishment, a belief in the power of the individual, and an enduring and abiding faith. She has proven to be an eternal inspiration for those she left behind. A Memorial Service conducted by her daughter-in-law, Pastor Kay M. Hollinger, will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at St. John's Evangelical Church in Littlestown, PA.
