When I found out that you had passed I was just leaving for work and running out the door. I had no idea, after that all day all I thought about was your smile and your infectious laugh - right from your toes. I couldn't believe you were gone...so soon. Although we didn't know each other very well I still thought you were a great guy and a fantastic musician. You will be greatly missed by all the lives you have touched. To the Lopez family - I am deeply sorry for your loss. Chris was such a gift to everyone that he had an opportunity to meet. You raised a fine young man, he came here to do what he was supposed to do. We are all grateful of that gift. Blessings on your family.

Chris, you really are an amazing, funny person. You were always "Just Chris" ;). I think about the time when you and James came to Boulder and we went to Denver with some of my friends... the state trooper incident, hahaha. It's memories like these I'll never forget. I know everyone will miss you very much. I know I certainly will.

The first couple of times when I first met Chris he seemed like a very happy, sweet and goofy guy. He stayed true to his character the whole time I was blessed to know him. Even though he never tried to be the center of attention, his awesome personality gave him an aura that drew people to him. Lots of love and prayers to the family

I can never forget Chris's impression on me. His gentle and kind eyes and actions as well as his exuberant fun-loving spirit. To the Lopez family, I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of such a loved one. I know that sympathies and memories are never enough to console this kind of loss but I pray you will feel surrounded by love and peace in this time and always when you remember Chris.

Chris has always been one of the funniest, kindest, honest people I have known, and I cherish the memories I have with such an amazing person. I will always remember the clothes that only he could pull off, that deep laugh, how he constantly pushed up those glasses with his knuckle and then said whatever. He was not afraid to be himself around anyone at all, and was a dear friend. He touched anyone who had the gift of knowing him, and several people who only know chris through other people. I love and miss him dearly, and will forever cherish the memories I have with him of the hookah bar with a wrecked car, new years eve at village inn, morgans birthday party and him going out to family dinner after without a second guess in his invitation, that one time at band camp... and so many more. I love and miss you Chris, always and forever in my heart.

After 10 years of teaching at GCHS, few students really warmed my heart with a smile every time I saw them. Chris was one of them. James, you were too. I loved the fun free spirit that I saw in both of you. I'm really sorry to hear of your loss.
