I want to send my deepest condolences to Rich's family. I grew up right down the street from Rich and his family and went to school with Nick and Danielle. I reconnected with him later in life when I worked with him at the city. Rich you will surely be missed and a great man. RIP

Rich was such a good man. He always walked around with a smile on his face and he always had something funny to say and knew how to make everyone laugh. He was always willing to help people out and teach them something if they didn’t know how to do something. Really going to miss you Rich.

I have known Rich for about 40 years. I remember Rich and Diane pushing Danielle in her stroller and we started talking and became real good friends. We considered ourselves brothers from a different mother. We had fun drag racing together. He was 5 months from retirement was he pasted. We had planned on going to Bakersfield, Calf to the Hot Rod Reunion because we shared the love of Fuel Altereds. Then we wanted to go to Big Daddy Don Garlits Museum. Rich had told me that him and Nick were going up to Bandimere racing this year and I was looking forward to be racing with him and Nick again. Brother, until I see you again and we race the tracks of heaven.
ward to racing with Rich again. Brother until I see you again and we race the tracks of heaven.

Rich You will be missed! We started at the City on the same day at DIA. We were instant brothers! You taught me a lot about life and about turning wrenches. I always admired the love you had for your wife and family. We had lost touch the last few years, but you were always my first stop when I had to be at your shop. Thank you for the Plymouth emblem you gave me years ago. My car will always wear it with pride and remembrance of a great man!

I met Rich at our Roslyn Fleet facility.
I'd been having a lot of trouble with my hybrid bucket work van.
No one else there had the smarts to work on that van, until I ran into Rich.
He figured out what the others had done wrong, cataloged what parts to use in the future, and was just a pleasure to work with.
After that, they bought me a large box bucket truck, and it had a lot of problems.
It was Rich to the rescue again!
News spread fast in Traffic Operations, that I had a found a guy that really new his stuff, and soon he was working on all our bucket trucks!
It was a pleasure working with someone that knew his job, and was also the nicest guy you ever met!
I'll miss you Rich. We'll all miss you.

Having the opportunity to work with Rich for the last five months has been such a privilege. Being new to the company, Rich really stepped up and took me under his wings teaching me the ins and outs of my job and helping me to learn it more proficiently. Rich also went out of his way to help me organize and build my tool cart to make sure that I was prepared for whatever and improve it for convience. (We were truly trying to pimp it out.) I will miss all the laughs and great stories Rich and I shared and never forget how great of a friend he had become in such a short time.

I first met Rich about 16 years ago when he started working for Denver County. He had a one of a kind personality that made everyone around him feel special. I loved to go back to where Rich worked and talk. He always had some cool project that he was working on, or a wonderful story to share with me. For the last few months I was Rich's supervisor so I would try to give him as much help as possible and I would assign an assistant to help him, and lighten his work load. I truly missed him on days that he had off. I tried to get him to take less time off, and work some overtime, so that he could save his time and increase his retirement, but he told me that he loved his wife so much that he could not stand being apart from her any more than absolutely necessary. We will all miss his incredible personality, and big heart.

Rich,
I remember the very first day we met at work. I was talking in my New York accent and your face lit up. You told me all of your stories about your home town. We had an instant connection. We joked, laughed and just had fun every time we were around each other. There was never a dull moment when you were around. When I heard about your passing, it broke my heart. You were truly a great friend. As I am writing this now, my heart is hurting that you are gone. I am forever grateful to know you, and thankful for your friendship. Rest in peace my friend. I will see you again some day!

Rich aka: Dad Midiri,
You were like a father to me when I was growing up. Thank you for being such a wonderful influence on me. You always told me how it was and loved me even when I was being stupid. You and Mom always had a seat at the table for me and a bed or couch for me to sleep on if I needed it. You were always the light at the party and made everyone laugh. Even when we thought you were being serious you would all of a sudden say something silly and the whole room would burst out in laughter. You had an aura about you that made everyone want to be a part of your life.
From the very beginning we all talked about the way you loved Mom. The way you would look at her and talk about her. She was your whole world. Everything you did was for your family. Thank you for showing me how to love with all my heart and take care of my family the way you took care of yours.
You are deeply loved and will always be loved.
With all my heart,
Crystal McGuinn

I didn't know Rich well, but like brothers in arms, we worked for the same employer. He always had a friendly smile and handshake whenever we happened to meet and talk. Rest in Peace. Tommy Brienza
