Obituary of Kenneth Francis Estlund

Ken Estlund of Parker, Colorado, born in Barnum, Iowa on June 20, 1934, died at home October 5th from complications of Lewy Body Dementia.

Ken and Diane, married for 62 years, moved to Parker in 1971. They lived on their acreage in Ponderosa Hills for 42 years where they raised their three children, Linda, Pam and Russ. They moved to Idyllwilde in Parker in 2013.

Ken served in the U.S. Navy for four years; earned a Bachelor Degree in Business and Economics; and was in the Animal Health Industry for 33 years.  Ken loved the game of basketball and was the co-inventor of the Break Away-Positive Latch-Goal. Ken took great pride in his family and loved nothing more than being home, working in the yard, improving and building. He built a barn, two sheds, installed six acres of split-rail fence, with Russ’ help, added a wrap-around front porch and deck, and finished the home’s basement.

There will be a private graveside memorial. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Parker Task Force Food Bank, 19105 Longs Way, Parker, CO. 80134 and/or the Wild Animal Sanctuary, 2999 Co Rd 53, Keenesburg, CO 80643.
