I served under LTC Blackburn as a "Bandit" from 1987-1989. His leadership outshined those before and after, including my states national guard. It was a great honor to serve under him as my battalion commander during my tour in Germany. His "pass and review" battalion retreat ceremonies inspired us all and kept our morale high. Thank you LTC Blackburn! My sincere condolences to his family and many friends. (Fiddler Green)

Sorry for your loss. Lindy was a friend in high school and church. First pic is VT. Second and third are his first trip back home from West Point. Church party, and who knows.

Although I know this is late I just learned of Lindy’s passing.
Lindy was my company Commander of Charlie Company 3/32 Armor, 3rd Armored Divisions in Friedberg Germany when I was in the Army. I served under his command from November 1972 until November 1974. Lindy was a shining example of what an Army Officer should be and I had the utmost respect for him then as I do still today. His leadership was second to none. He treated those under his command with respect and dignity and his ability to inspire made every soldier a better soldier and a better person. I will never forget him the rest of my days and I’m a better man because I was lucky enough to have had such a fine man cross paths with me in my life. Thank you sir for the guidance you provided. I will always be indebted to you for that guidance. I know you were welcomed into the House of the Lord with open arms. Rest In Peace Lindy. Slow hand Salute to you Sir.
