Obituary of Marylou Gabriel

Marylou Gabriel (80) of Elbert, Colorado passed away on Friday December 18, 2020. 

Marylou was born on June 6, 1940 to Herbert and Evelyn (Petersen) Stewart and grew up in Deer Trail, CO.  She was the oldest of 3 children.   

She met Leland Gabriel and they were married on August 2, 1959.  They had 2 sons, Bill and Dave.  They lived in and around the Elbert area for over 40 years and had celebrated their 61^st wedding anniversary this year.  She loved spending time with family and loved her time spent in the outdoors.  She enjoyed gardening, quilting, fishing, and hunting.  Her absolute favorite things were her grandkids and traveling all over to watch them in whatever they were doing. 

She worked as an accountant for Gesins’ Market in Elizabeth, May D&F, Jewish Family Heath and the Elizabeth Locker Plant.  She also volunteered for the Elbert Fire Department and worked as an Elbert County Deputy Coroner. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Wayne Stewart of Pine Bluff, WY, her sister Dorothy Pisel of Deer Trail, CO and her husband Leland Gabriel. 

She is survived by her children Bill & Elaine (Everitt) Gabriel of Parker, David & Patti (Davis) Gabriel of Kiowa, grandchildren Austin, Jacob, James and Emili Gabriel and many nieces and nephews.
