Obituary of Marcia Kaye Snook

Marcia Kaye Snook, 77, was born October 22, 1943, in Ames, Iowa to Melvin and Eileen (Sevde) Rench.  Marcia died December 18, 2020, in Madeira, Ohio, due to complications from Parkinson’s disease and dementia.

Marcia grew up in Ames and attended Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, graduating in 1965 with a degree in elementary education.  She always maintained a great fondness for Wartburg, where she made lifelong connections.  Marcia married Allan (“Al”) Snook in July 1965.  She spent a few years teaching in the primary grades before starting her family.  Marcia and Al lived in many locations across the U.S. as a result of Al’s military service and career with United Airlines, ultimately settling in Colorado which is the place they liked best.

For decades, Marcia was an active member of Joy Lutheran Church, faithfully serving her church family in many ways.  She will be remembered for her strong faith, her love of travel and learning, and her never-ending devotion to her husband and family.  She will be deeply missed.

Marcia will be lovingly remembered by her children, Brett and Jill (Jason P.) Stock; five grandchildren – Alexandra (Snook) Morgan and Cassidy Snook and Colton, Rachel and Camden Volk; and one great-granddaughter, Emery Morgan.  Marcia was preceded in death by Al, her beloved husband of 51 years.
