For the last 23 years, Chuck has been our neighbor and friend. Chuck always was so helpful and cheerful in everything he did. He always had a good story to tell. Stories of how him and Barbara met and the places they lived and all the adventures they had. He also loved to talk about Kansas and the farm he grew up on.
Chuck was always a nice dresser, his socks always matched his pants or shirts! I loved checking what socks he wore!
In Chucks later years I was fortunate enough to spend more time with him! Tuesday afternoons were our time to have strawberry milk shakes and look for deer around our neighborhood!
He will truly be missed! So blessed to have known him!

For over forty years Chuck, my father Bill, and
myself walked countless miles through the fields of Pratt County chasing pheasants, quail, and energetic bird dogs. The best of times were tailgate lunches along side of old dirt roads. During these lunches Chuck would provide a history lesson on Iuka, Byers, and Pratt as far back as the Dust Bowl era. I felt
like I had actually lived through that era. The other thing with Chuck is that he rarely missed a shot. Birds would flush I would empty my gun not drawing a feather and Chuck would then shoot just once or twice and drop the bird. Chuck never failed to outshoot any of us. I asked Chuck his secret and he told me
“Easy on the trigger.” There will not be a day go by that I don’t think about those roadside lunches and the history lesson I was taught by a loving relative but a GREAT FRIEND! I will miss you Chuck.
