Obituary of Norman B. Scheffel

Norman Bach Scheffel departed from this world on February 15, 2021 for his eternal home in heaven at the age of 92. 

Born in Chicago, Il, 1928, to Edna O. Scheffel (Bach) and Harvey A. Scheffel, Norm was a resident of Parker Colorado for 49 years, member of Grace Baptist Church, Parker, the President of Sky Cliff Stroke Center for many years, frequent Republican Party volunteer and Precinct leader, Sunday School teacher, Boy Scout leader, lecturer, and traveled extensively.  Norm served in the Ready Reserve, Navy, for 9 years, and was a member of the American Chemical Society, Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry, Institute of Environment Science, and Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.  He graduated from Northwestern University in 1950. 

He was married to his dear wife Marolyn Scheffel (Barkdoll) in the same year, having celebrated their 70^th Anniversary in November, 2020.  Marolyn always called him “my boy- friend” as they never lost their youthful relationship.  Other members of his family are his beloved children, daughter Debora Scheffel of Parker, son Thomas Scheffel (wife Linda) of Littleton, son Hon. Mark Scheffel (wife Cheri) of Parker; and grandchildren Sarah Schutte (husband, Dan), great grandson, Andrew Schutte, grandsons Tomme II (wife Hannah), Stephen (wife Mikayle), Peter, and granddaughters Maria, Laura, and Madalynn. 

Norm was a chemical engineer and worked in technical applications in ceramics, paint, rubber, paper, and more recently, in the micro-fiber and filtration and minerals industry.  He worked for a number of corporations, including Allis Chalmers (Kansas City, MO), Berkshire Chemicals (Chicago, IL), Cyprus Mines (Trenton, NJ), Sierra Talc (Death Valley, CA), Desert Minerals (Yardley, PA), Johns Manville (Denver, CO), where he had several technical patents associated with the space industry; and Technical Fiber Products (Kendal, England).  He was also President of Herald Industry Filtration Engineering.  Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and great-grandfather.  His parents were prayer warriors, and Norm, an only child, came to know Christ as a young child, and strove to live for Him all his life.  It was an honor to be his wife and best friend for 70 years and the mother of his three children.  We will all miss him mightily.
