Mary Huber

Obituary of Mary Joan Huber

We were all created to be with God and on September 8th Mary Joan Huber, age 91, passed away peacefully to be with our Heavenly Father. She was born December 12, 1929 in Akron, Ohio to John and Elizabeth Casey. She married her college sweetheart and her longtime friend and love, Robert Anthony Huber, in August of who preceded her in death in 2009.

Mary Joan graduated from Mount St Joseph College and Good Samaritan School of Nursing in 1952 in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she lived until retiring and then moving to Denver, Colorado.  She had the opportunity to travel the world and touched many people’s lives through her career in the nursing profession. Later in her career, she began teaching nursing at Good Samaritan Hospital and then teaching nursing obstetrics and geriatrics at the University of Cincinnati.  She also served on Mount St Joseph’s Board.  Mary Joan had a “nurses’ heart”… a deep compassion for the sick, hurting, and especially… new born children. Mary Joan also enjoyed cooking and had quite a collection of cookbooks.
