Sharen Kaiwi

Obituary of Sharen Waianapanapa Asing Kaiwi

Our beloved Sharen Waianapanapa Asing Kaiwi, 68, of Parker, Colorado, passed away on Oct.1st, 2021, and entered into her eternal rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Sharen was born to parents, Lawrence 'Larry' Kahaku Asing Jr. and Irene Berard Asing on June 14th,1953 and was the eldest of four siblings, brother Lawrence 'Haku' Asing, and sisters Haunani Marston & Rene Schofield. She was raised in Kailua, Oahu where she spent her childhood/teen years and was a graduate of Kamehameha Schools class of '71. Sharen went on to raise her young family in Mililani, until her 3 kids, Jordan (Mahi), Alika & Iwalani were grown, settling in Colorado in 2010 following her retirement from the US Postal Service.
There she spent her remaining years loving onher kids and grandkids, and serving the Lord wherever He led. Brought up in a home filled with music and mirth, and like the rest of her 'ohana, Sharen was blessed with many creative and musical gifts. With these gifts, she joyfully and faithfully served the Lord in Sunday school/children's ministry, in programs for special needs children, soup kitchens, hospitals/memory care homes, and more, giving God all the glory. One of her greatest passions was teaching the children about Jesus and His love for them, which she did for many years at Calvary Chapel Central Oahu, Calvary Worship Center, Cornerstone Family Fellowship, and finally her last church home Truth Church Calvary. Sharen loved greatly, was a pillar of strength and loyalty and her selfless love, compassion, and kindness lifted all those around her. Sharen Waianapanapa...daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend, you finished your race well, and your gentle smile, chiefly heart, and beautiful voice will echo in our hearts forever.

Sharen is survived by her adoring children, Jordan Mahi Kaiwi, Alika Kaiwi (wife Jenny Kaiwi), and Iwalani Lelepali (husband Kane Lelepali), six grandchildren, Wailea, Lilia, Ana & Selah Lelepali and Noe & Malina Kaiwi, her mother Irene Berard Asing of Waimanalo, brother Lawrence Kahaku Asing III of Maui, and sisters Haunani Asing Marston of Kilauea, Kaua'i and Rene Kehau Schofield (husband Bill Schofield) of Brussels, Belgium, along with nieces and nephews; Loke, Malia, Makoto, Tawn-e,Nanea, Christian, Kalei, Kylie & Timmy, and finally her family in Christ.

She was preceded in death by her father Lawrence Kahaku Asing Jr.
