Obituary of John Patrick Malone

John Patrick Malone, 62, passed away on Thursday, December 2nd. He was born in Montana September 12, 1959 to Charles and Evelyn Malone. He attended Mesa State College in Grand Junction, CO and graduated as valedictorian of his class with a degree in Bachelor of Sciences in Accounting. He spent his career both in accounting and IT and was an IT Project Manager at Marathon Petroleum. 

 

He married Pamela Jean Davis on June 12, 1982 and they had a loving and supportive relationship for over four decades. They had two daughters, Sara and Courtney, to whom John was a devoted and affectionate father. He took great pleasure in skiing, cycling, fishing, hiking, and found solace in nature. John had a love of history, was a classic rock fan, and his family treasures the many occasions they were able to travel together. He is loved by many for his fun-loving nature and his generous spirit. 

 

He is survived by his wife, Pam Malone, and his two daughters; Sara, in Alaska with her husband, Nathan Erfurth, and their two children, James and Evelyn. His other daughter, Courtney, lives in Colorado with her husband, Matt Mitchell. He is survived by his father, Charles Malone (Castle Rock, CO), mother-in-law Sylvia Davis (Grand Junction, CO), siblings Keven and wife Ann-Marie (TX), Dan and wife Rebecca (Oro Valley, AZ), Mike and wife Kelli (Boston, MA), sister Kathleen and husband Don (SC), and brother-in-law Richard Davis (Grand Junction, CO). John is preceded in his death by his mother, Evelyn Malone.

 

The memorial service will be held Sunday, December 12th at 4pm at the Spirit of Hope Lutheran Church, located at 7060 Ponderosa Dr, Parker, CO 80138. Unvaccinated attendees are required to wear a mask during the memorial service and the reception, which will follow at the Church.
