Obituary of Lance Leland Waterman

Lance Leland Waterman, loving husband and dad, died March 19, 2022 in hospice care.

Lance was born in Los Angeles, California on February 25th 1963 at 12:03AM to Bill and Pat Waterman. His family moved across the country with stops in Kansas and Wisconsin and finally settling in North Carolina.  He graduated from college in 1987 from Appalachian State with a degree in Computer Science. While attending Appalachian State he took a skiing class and the rest is history!

In 1994 he married his best friend, Annie Cameron. They moved to Colorado in 1995 and started a beautiful life together. Their sons Cameron and Parker were born and raised in Colorado with plenty of visits to the East and West Coast, as well as Australia, to visit family.

Lance, and his family enjoyed traveling together - not only to visit family, but to explore new and exciting places.  Some of Lance’s fondest memories of traveling were to Australia, Fiji, Hawaii, India and Italy.

Lance was a man of great faith and regularly attended and volunteered his time with Colorado Community Church and was vital in many lives strengthening their walk with Christ. Lance loved anything to do with the outdoors including camping, hiking, and those never ending jogs. He enjoyed sharing his love of outdoors, with his boys, extended family and friends,

Lance is survived by his wife Annie Waterman of 27 years, 2 sons Cameron and Parker Waterman, his daughter-in-law, Leilani Waterman, his sister Kim Waterman, brother in laws, Sam and Donald Cameron, Sisters in law, Justine and Michelle, nieces Taylor, Allie and Maddy, nephews Tyler, Aaron, Jake and Russell.

Lance died surrounded by his family and loved ones after fighting the good fight with ALS (diagnosed in July 2020).

Lance will be missed, but his memory will live in our hearts and minds forever.

Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and Heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
