I'd like to offer my condolences to the family on the passing of George. George was my cousin. His mother and my mother were sisters. Because we lived on opposite coasts, we never saw each other very often, but we always looked forward to seeing George and his family when they came to Pennsylvania to visit family. I read in his obituary that he refereed at sporting events and he didn't have a problem letting the ref know if he made a good call or a bad call. He must have gotten this trait from our great grandmother, Grammy Sload. Grammy loved to watch local baseball games. One of her boys was usually playing on the team and she was their cheerleader. When the umpire didn't call a ball the way she thought it should have been called, she yelled "kill the ump". We were so embarrassed! Again, I'm sorry for your loss. George was a great guy.
