Obituary of Michelle Renee Case

Michelle Renee Case, 48, of Castle Rock, passed away on September 25, 2022 in Lone Tree Colorado. She was born in Elmira, NY on January 19, 1974. The second of three children, she is survived by her parents, Richard and Linda Case of Castle Rock, Colorado, sister Christina Siebels, brother-in-law Mark Siebels,  and nieces Riley, Rachael, and Nicole Siebels of Frederick, CO, brother Peter Case, sister-in-law Shara Case, and nephews Joshua Case and Aidan Case of Castle Rock, Colorado; Grandmother, Maria Smith of Ft. Collins, Colorado; aunts Wendy Kelly of Petaluma, California, Carolyn Reed of Kearny, Missouri, and Ann Burroughs of Ft. Collins, Colorado; uncles Robbie Case of Kansas City, Missouri, Harry Smith of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and John Smith of Chicago, Illinois.  

Michelle grew up living in various states but spent a majority of her life in Boulder and Castle Rock, Colorado.  She was proud to call Colorado her home. She attended Colorado State University and Loyola University in Chicago where she received her MBA in economics and management. She worked alongside her dad and brother for years in the medical courier business as the Chief Operating Officer, but who she was and how she lived went way beyond her professional skills in business.

Michelle was a problem solver that saved the lives of the patients the company she served every day. Michelle fearlessly drove into Houston in 2006 during Hurricane Ike, the only car going into the city before the Hurricane hit to be on-site with the employees and hospital staff   that ultimately resulted in the saving of 15 NICU babies due to her ability to address and solve a supply chain and power outage at one of the local hospitals. She worked for 120 hours straight with little sleep during and after the hurricane to ensure that the hospital staff, patients, and the company employees were safe. She saved the lives of countless patients due to her dedication and perseverance, relying on Jesus to guide her decisions.

Her home was always welcoming and warm. Her two dogs, Samson and Tucker were her joy and she was such a dog-lover that other neighborhood pups would often just show up on her doorstep or wander in her house for a treat, which of course, she was happy to give.

Michelle loved holidays with the family, especially Christmas, and all the trips she took with family to places all over the world that made great memories for all.  She especially liked Bavaria, Germany and Lugano, Switzerland.  She also loved annual trips with the family to the Biltmore in North Carolina.   Many evenings spent on the veranda there overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains in stimulating conversation (always sharing her viewpoints with respect and honor, helping all to go deeper into the subject).

Michelle loved skiing and golfing in the Colorado outdoors, quoting episodes of ‘Friends’ in everyday conversation, and always enjoyed a good Nordstrom sale. An avid collector of UGG boots and comfy pajamas, she often shared her love of the finer things with her friends and family. “I was at the store today and I picked up something for you…” was not an uncommon text to receive from her. She was generous beyond belief.

At her heart, Michelle was relational and thrived when she was able to simply share her faith and walk through life with family and friends. She sought an abiding relationship with Jesus and with the people He placed in her life. She would go to great lengths for her loved ones and never really asked anything in return. Her nephews grew up with a most generous and cool aunt. She immersed herself in whatever they were interested in and supported them enthusiastically. Sometimes that meant six hours at Chuck E Cheese or three days building a Star Wars Lego set in time for Christmas… she did it all. She never even minded that their baby name for her, “Echel” simply stuck around and became her actual name in the family.

She will be greatly missed but we rejoice in her being united with her heavenly Father and eagerly await the day when we know we will be reunited.

A life filled with generosity and compassion. She would rejoice in us being generous in the things that matter to us.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held at the Cedar Hills Cemetery for a Gravesite Service.
