Heather Bright

Obituary of Heather Elizabeth Bright

Heather Tunstall Bright went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, after a three year journey with metastatic breast cancer. She was surrounded by her family – husband Todd, and six children, Daniel (Tessa), Lauren Duncan (Taylor), Noah, Seth, Hannah and Samuel and two grandchildren Josie and Madeleine Duncan at the time of her passing.

Heather was born in Abington Pennsylvania on January 2, 1971. She graduated from Chamberlain High School in Tampa, FL and went on to earn her Masters in Accounting at the University of Florida. Growing up in a loving family, her father and mother instilled in her a value for family, helping others and entrepreneurial belief that there were no limits on what she could do.  These foundational qualities would be key to how Heather would approach life post her surrender to Christ in 1999 – five years after she married Todd.

Heather was a dedicated mother who homeschooled her six children until the time of her passing, instilling in them talent, skills and values they would use to glorify their Creator in serving others and pointing them to the Savior. She ended every day by praying over each of her children.

Together Heather and Todd followed the Lord’s calling upon their life to full-time ministry which included a cross-country move and mission trips. Most known for her endless desire to serve and bless others, she would begin a food bank ten years ago out of the family garage. Through the Lord’s provision, this foodbank would grow to not only provide for the physical needs of those in her community but would lead to countless other’s finding their souls greatest need for salvation and subsequent discipleship through an associated ministry.

Her lighthearted laugh, unfainting positivity and nurturing heart will be deeply missed but the legacy she leaves behind in the hearts of her family, friends and those she ministered to will endure eternally. We can only imagine the smile on her face as she heard, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” from the One she lived her life to please.

Heather is preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Hartson and grandparents. She is survived by her parents, A Gordon and Nancy Tunstall, and David and Linda Hartson, siblings Nicole Novak (Andy), A Gordon Tunstall III, Natalie Callahan (Josh), Mike Hartson (Laurie) and Jon Hartson (Kimberly), nieces and nephews Drew and Nancy Novak, A Gordon IV and Fenton Tunstall, Gabriel, Caleigh and Reese Callahan, and Logan, Ben, and Auggie Hartson.

In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Heather’s legacy can be made to Heather’s Pantry at www.heatherspantryparker.org . Heather’s Pantry has been serving the Denver metro for over 10 years and is a 501c3 – this year 3.7 million lbs of food has been given out.”
