Obituary of Morgan Graham

Morgan Graham, age 82, of Highlands Ranch and Conifer, CO passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023. He died peacefully in his home. He was born on January 9, 1941 in Elgin, Illinois, the son of Robert and Harriette (Morgan) Graham.

Morgan attended high school at Elgin High School and went to college at The University of Wisconsin at River Falls where he received a BS in Secondary Education, English and a MA Counseling. This is where he met the love of his life, Shirley Chartier.

Morgan had a lifetime career in High School Teaching and Counseling. He spent the bulk of his 40 year counseling career at Overland High School in Aurora, CO and Ponderosa High School in Parker, CO. He was the proud voice/announcer of the Overland Trailblazers Football program for many years. He felt most accomplished by helping people. His home was open to everyone and he shared his time and advice freely.

He was an avid reader, loved animals, enjoyed a mountain home for years, was in a men’s group at Edwards Pipe Shop in Littleton. He was a collector of many things. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his beloved cat, Jack.

Morgan is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley (Chartier) Graham; his children, Kerry Palmer, Rob (Jeanne) Graham, and Erin Mitchler. Mark DeCicco (husband of Lisa); grandchildren, Ryan (Jeniffer) DeCicco, Lauren DeCicco, Jonas and Jaren Graham, Cole and Ella Mitchler; siblings, Vicki (David) Lisman, Stephen (Linda) Graham, Brian (Cathy) Graham and their children. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Lisa Graham DeCicco.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Crossroads Community Church, 9900 S. Twenty Mile Road, Parker, CO 80134.
