Obituary of Telford "Pete" Ward, Jr

Telford Raymond Ward, Jr. of Centennial, Colorado passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at the age of 90. A loving husband, father, brother, grandpa, and great grandpa, he will be deeply missed by all.

Telford (Pete) was born on June 10, 1932 to Telford Raymond Ward, Sr. and Mary Sagel, and grew up in Greeley, Colorado. He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Panama. After retiring from service, he worked as a civilian Communications Specialist at Lowry Air Force Base in Aurora, Colorado.

He met Dorothy Jane Davis of Bassfield, Mississippi, a nursing student in Denver, and they were married in Raton, New Mexico on January 1, 1959. They went on to raise three beautiful children and resided in Aurora.

Pete loved fishing, camping, the mountains, classic cars and music. His favorite genres were jazz, big band, swing, and country music. He was also somewhat of a classic film/TV show buff who could recall numerous actors names from memory. 

Telford (Pete) is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy (Davis) Ward; daughters, Melanie Ward and Laurie Ward; son, Telford R. Ward, III (Pete or Petey); grandson, Justin Ward Lovenstein and granddaughter, Lily Rae Lovenstein; great grandsons, Charles Telford Lovenstein and Simon Arthur Lovenstein.
