Obituary of Thomas O. Mann

Thomas O. Mann, of Bailey Colorado, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 27, 2023 at the age of 79, after a long battle with heart disease. Tom was born on June 23, 1943 in St. Louis Missouri. He and his family later moved to Bailey, Colorado. He joined the Navy after high school and was stationed in California where he met the love of his life, Madeline, whom he was married to for over 58 years. After leaving the Navy, Tom started his career with the phone company, moved back to Colorado, and after 44 years, he retired and ended his career with the same phone company. He was a Navy veteran and a volunteer fireman and first responder in his mountain community for 26 years. Tom was always available to respond to help his community. He faithfully served his church and was a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus with his Catholic Parish at St. Mary’s of the Rockies.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother and step father, Helen and Richard Hosp, father, Russell Mann and his sister Betty Lamping. Tom is survived by his wife, Madeline, two daughters, Dianne Craig (Mark), Mary Chavez, and a son Tom (Sarah), and eight grandchildren, his brother Russell and sister Yvonne Rottjakob (Joe).

Rosary will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Saint Mary of the Rockies, 224 Buggy Whip Road, Bailey, CO.  Funeral Mass will follow, at 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at the church.  Reception will follow Mass.  Inurnment will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
