Ronald Armstrong

Obituary of Ronald H. Armstrong

Ronald H. Armstrong, age 76, of Parker, CO passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023. He was born on August 16, 1946 in Texas.

Ron was a man of God and a true American Patriot. As a young man, he served in the Naval National Guard, transitioning into the Airforce where he was proud to say he was able to see the world. Most of his work life was spent serving Veterans. Ron retired from the Veterans Administration with over 40 years of service. Most of his VA service was at the Denver VA Medical Center – over 35 years!

Ron and Teri were married 39 years ago in Las Vegas, Nevada on the 4th of July; and together shared a life in Aurora, Elizabeth and ending up in Parker, Colorado. They shared four children (Chris, Andy, Pat and Michelle), family, friends, and pets who all miss him greatly.

Ron loved youth sports. He coached his boys, and a lot of their friends, in baseball, basketball, football, and wrestling. When he wasn’t coaching, you couldn’t keep him away from their games/matches and practices. It was a fun time for friends and family which he missed greatly when it was over.

He discovered cruising when the children were small but could never afford a lot of it. He loved to cruise! We started cruising a lot more over the last ten years. He was a proud platinum Carnival member and was hoping to reach diamond someday. He left this earth with two cruises planned.

At 76 years of age, he was preceded in death by all of those who you would think, however, the passing of his two sons, Chris and Pat, each at such a young age; was one of the hardest things he had ever endured. To the day he died, he felt he should have been able to save them. He accepted it was God’s plan with his heart, but never with his head.

Ron became political and a little opinionated over the last few years. With his discovery of Facebook, he wasn’t afraid to put it out there.  He let everyone know his faith in God and his strong opinions. It was all in fun, and he never held malice against those who were on the other side of his beliefs and opinions.

We will all be saying goodbye to Ron on August 16th at the Stroh Ranch Recreation Center (details to be determined). There will be a graveside service in Las Animas, Colorado, date and time to be determined.
