Obituary of Marie Baumgarten

Marie Horton Baumgarten, age 89, of Aurora, CO passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023. She was born on August 8, 1934, in Wheatley, Arkansas, the daughter of Ruby (McCorkle) and William Elrod.

In June 1952, she married Frank C. Horton, Jr. of El Segundo, CA who was deceased in November 1970, and later married Ludwig S. Baumgarten of Woodstock, NY, deceased in January 1999.

Marie leaves behind a legacy of love for her family and friends. She is survived by daughters Shari (Horton) Eklund with her husband Donnie, Debbie (Horton) Jacobson with her husband Eric, and Pamela (Horton) Harwood Sullivan with her husband Benson;  grandsons Brett Harwood, Keith Harwood, and Dakota Reier with his wife Annika, and granddaughter Kayla (Jacobson) Batham with her husband Connor. Marie also was blessed with four great-grandchildren, Brett’s son Valyn Harwood, and Dakota and Annika’s three children Matilda, Olin, and Hawthorn Reier.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, October 6, 2023, at Ponderosa Valley Funeral Services. A graveside service and burial will be held in Inglewood Park Cemetery, Inglewood, CA.
