Obituary of William Tronick

William Murphy Tronick, a son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and loyal friend passed away on October 31, 2023, at the young age of 94. Bill loved life and longed to live to 100. Sadly, this was cut short after a fall in which he succumbed to a brain injury.

He is preceded in death by his wife Kathern and son Patrick, as well as one brother and two sisters.

Bill was born in Lacrosse, WI on June 25, 1929, to Agnes and Louis Tronick. Unfortunately, Bill lost his dad at a young age. But before his passing, his dad built the first official minor league baseball park in Lacrosse. He also created the Tronick Tigers Baseball Team which Bill was a proud founding member of. Bill, his mother, and siblings began their move to California after his father died, stopping at various locations along the way. They eventually landed in Denver, CO where they permanently stayed.

Bill joined the Marines at the young age of 17, begging his mother to sign the papers. He proudly served for 6 years through the end of WW II and extending his stay during the Korean war. Bill ended his service as a Staff Sargent. He was always proud to be a Marine, still wearing his Marine Corp Veteran hat until his last day.

After the Marines, Bill returned to Denver where he met his wife, Kathern. They were married for 55 years until her death in 2006. Bill and Kathy had two sons, Patrick, and Michael and two daughters, Nadine, and Diana. He was blessed with a daughter-in-law, Carol, 5 grandchildren and their siblings, Lucas (and Claudia) Tronick, Peter (and Susie) Tronick, Curtis (and Christie) Tronick, Jessica (and Jed) Sullivan and Jason (and Shawnna) Cruz. Bill was also fortunate to have 10 great grandchildren which he adored and playfully tormented.

After his service in the Marines, Bill started his career at Morse Chain/Emerson painting gears and speed reducers. He continued to grow within the company becoming the Warehouse Manager, Personnel Manager, and finally the International Purchasing Manager. He loved his career, especially travelling the world and becoming a million-mile flyer with United Airlines.

Bill always loved sports. He played baseball as a kid, continuing to play in a men’s softball league in his adult years. He also took up handball, racquetball, golfing, skiing and running. Bill ran until the age of 82. He was an avid fisherman, card player, and competitive soul.

A service will be held on November 18th, at 10:30 am, with a light lunch provided afterwards, at the Wheat Ridge Grange located at 3850 High Ct. Wheatridge CO. The family will hold a private burial service.
