Obituary of James W. Pederson

James W. Pederson, age 88, of Castle Pines, CO, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.  He was born on December 10, 1934 in South Dakota, the son of Edna (Goy) and Carl Pederson.

Jim grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and joined the Marines at the age of 17. Upon returning from serving in the Korean war, he met the absolute love of his life, Marcie. Together they had 4 children and 67 years of love, laughter and adventure, stopping at every fishing hole along the way. Jim had mischievous blue eyes and the most contagious laugh.

He had a fierce love and devotion for his family and was a patriot to the end. As a young man, Jim loved horses. He shared his love for horses by introducing his children to rodeo. This family pastime was his favorite adventure.

Jim was an avid lover of hunting and fishing and enjoyed it wherever and whenever he could. Traveling from New Zealand to Alaska and everywhere in between. Jim squeezed every drop from life and made it a party for all those around him. He truly was ONE-OF-A-KIND!

Survivors include his wife, Marcia Pederson; children, Pixie “Patrice” (Billy) Paul, Missie (Steve) Nichols; Kryn (Gregory) Skarda and Todd Pederson; four grandchildren, Tyler Ensign, Jesse Nichols, Wesley Ensign and Austin Nichols; seven great grandchildren, Travis Ensign, Naomi Ensign, Hannah Ensign, A.J. Nichols, Jonah Ensign, Addy Nichols and Lily Nichols and one sister, Shirley (Rozy) Rozeboom.  He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.

Private Family Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
