Obituary of Teresa V. Ogu

Teresa Valdez Ogu was a beloved wife, mother, sister and aunt. She was called home to the arms of God on September 1st, 2019. She was born at St. Luke's Hospital in Denver, Colorado on April 27th, 1959. Teresa attended St. Philomena Catholic School in Denver, and graduated from Central Catholic High School. She went to college at the University of Denver, where she studied concert piano. She was very passionate about music in general and classical music in particular. She went on to work in the banking industry for many years before becoming a full time mom. Once the kids were in school, she worked at the Wal-Mart in Parker for a period of time. Teresa was married to her husband Innocent for 32 years. She was a gentle and loving mother and wife, and was devoted to her family and her faith. She is predeceased by her father Vernon Valdez. She is survived by her husband Innocent Ogu (Parker, CO), her children Augustus Ogu (Grants Pass, OR), Gabriela Fittje and her husband Taylor (Aurora, CO), Ephraim Ogu (Laramie, WY) and Isaac Ogu (Bozeman, MT). She is also survived by her mother E. Shirley Valdez (Denver, CO) as well as her brother Philip Valdez (Denver, CO) and her sisters Victoria Morrill (Denver, CO) and Valerie Valdez (Denver, CO). Teresa brought joy to those around her with her laughter and sense of humor. She was gentle, kind and playful, and loved to joke around. Teresa enjoyed and loved listening to different types of music on her mp3 player and shared it with her family and friends. She loved to read and play games on her Kindle, as well as sew clothes and crochet for herself and her family. A Rosary will be held at 10:30am, followed by a Mass at 11:00am on September 20th, 2019. The Rosary and Mass will take place at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Parker, CO and will be followed by a reception. Ave Maria Catholic Church, 9056 E Parker Rd.
