Obituary of James Archer Campbell

James Archer Campbell, 93, of Parker, CO, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2019. WWII Veteran. Jim was born on November 17, 1925 in Denver, CO to Elbert and Lucy (Estada) Campbell. Following his graduation from high school, he was inducted into the U.S. Army on January 17, 1944. He served for a period of two years. During his service he received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Service Ribbon, Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Jim enjoyed collecting model cars, trains and coins. He also enjoyed reading and keeping up with political matters. Jim was very active in the Shell Oil retirees activities until about a year ago, when he was no longer able to attend due to health reasons. Jim attended the Annunciation Catholic School Class of "43" monthly lunch gatherings from 1990-2007. Those meetings ended when others were no longer able to attend. Jim is survived by his companion and friend, Colleen Root, his children, Whitney and James. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Michael, brother, Albert and two sisters. Graveside Service with Military Honors provided by the United States Army at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Parker Cemetery.
