Carol was / is a powerful influence in our walk and service for Jesus. We are so thankful for the many opportunities we had to talk and to share. Bud and Carol taught us about spiritual practices / disciplines. They both introduced us to these life giving practices and encouraged in seeking silence, solitude, and mediative times with scripture.
We are thankful for her amazing life. Our first encounter with Carol and Bud was in the late 1970's in Frankfurt, W. Germany while we were stationed there. Bud, the Protestant chaplain at Central Chapel, helped blaze the trail of Club Beyond. Dave and I were volunteers with Club Beyond and served out of the "Harmony House" next to Central Chapel. Working alongside Ed Morgan, Erik & Debie Ohman, Jan & Paul Lee, and Esther & Dick Michalsen we went on camps and offered weekly clubs for the high school students. This is when we had Matt and Meg in our clubs and camps. Dave had Matt in one of his cabins - ski camp Melchsee Frutt Swizterland. From these early years of ministry we were blessed to have this amazing couple stay with us and we got to stay with them. Enjoying fine wine, good books, theological discussions, prayer... We laughed. We cried. We worshiped God. We are not the same people because of Carol and Bud.

Debbie - Thanks so much for those fond memories about Mom and Dad. I still very much appreciate Dave's grace and guidance when I really needed it as a teen. It's amazing how God works through the small and the large events of our lives to transform us into saints. We really saw that in Mom at the end, very much the conduit for Christs love and mercy to those around her, even as she was failing. Was really beautiful.

A few of Carol's paintings ...
Debbie Culver Sanders Posted Nov 12, 2020 at 7:51 AM
Carol was so talented and encouraging. We have one of her paintings hanging in our living room above the fireplace. She spent time helping Dave to learn how to work with watercolour paints on one of Bud and Carol's visit to our home in Germany.
We are rejoicing that now Carol is with Jesus and with Bud.
Hugs, love and prayers to you!
